About Dr. Uglow

Dr. Loyd Uglow is a retired commander in the United States Naval Reserve. He currently serves on the board of elders of First Assembly of God in Waxahachie, Texas. In addition to his many duties, Dr. Uglow enjoys spending time with his family and gardening, as well as reading and writing. He is the author of Standing in the Gap, a book which covers military activities on the Texas frontier in the late nineteenth century, and two historical biographies for young people, Abraham Lincoln: Won’t You Ever Give Up? and Benjamin Franklin: You Know What to Say, Most recently, he is co-author of For the Whole World, a history of Southwestern Assemblies of God University, which is being published in fall 2003.
