About Ms. Robins

Linda Robins joined the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Music Department in 1989. She received the B.M.E. and M.M.E. from the University of Central Oklahoma (Edmond, Oklahoma) and the D.W.S. from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies (Orange Park, Florida). Dr. Robins taught music education courses for grades K-12 in public and private schools in Oklahoma for fourteen years, and served as a minister of music prior to teaching at SAGU. She has served as an adjudicator for Assemblies of God District and National Fine Arts Festivals since 1975.

Under her leadership SAGU has attained the distinguished title of being an All-Steinway School. Twenty-two Steinway and Boston pianos have been purchased for the Music Department since 2009. She has also led the Music Department to receive the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Student Chapter of the Year (2013) and the induction of the music faculty and several music majors into the Pi Kappa Labda Music Honor Society (2013).

Dr. Robins directed the Harvesters from 1989-2003. During this tenure the Harvesters had five recording projects, traveled extensively throughout the Southwestern region, and traveled to Belgium, Germany and Brazil. Honors and awards include Outstanding Young Women of America (1981); Who’s Who in American Christian Leadership (1989); Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers (1994); The International Who’s Who of Professional & Business Women (1998); The Woman of the Year (1999); The World Who’s Who of Women (2000); the SAGU Distinguished Faculty Award (1999); the Southwesterner Faculty Dedication (2001); and was inducted into the Assemblies of God Music Hall of Honor (2005).
