Sooner Athletic Conference th Celi Bruce SAC Defender-of-the-Week
“We are so proud of Celi. She has been playing at a very high level defensively. We have some incredible Libero’s in our conference and she is in right there with all of them. We are going to need her to play at this level the last two weeks of the season,” says head volleyball coach Hank Moore .
Bruce is a sophomore libero from Waxahachie, Texas . This past week, Bruce averaged 6.57 digs per game in matches against Bacone College and John Brown University .
Against SAGU’s 3-0 win over Bacone, Bruce had 20 digs. John Brown University topped SAGU 3-1. In the process, Bruce had 26 digs.
For the season, Bruce is averaging 4.7 digs per game for 466 digs total.
On Tuesday, October 25, 2016 SAGU will host Texas Wesleyan University (24-4). On Friday, October 28, 2016 the Lady Lions will play at Southwestern Christian (15-12). Both games are Sooner Athletic Conference games. Currently, SAGU is tied with John Brown for fifth place in the SAC.
