The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Volleyball team competed on the road against Mid-America Christian University (MACU) in a true conference match up. The first two set were close, but the Lady Lions made errors that cost them, MACU won both sets (27-25) and (25-23). The next two sets, SAGU was dominant winning (25-16) and (25-15). In the winner takes all fifth set, the Lady Lions rallied late, but MACU took it 15-13. The Lady Lions played hard tonight in a competitive match and will have a lot to build off of moving forward. 

Notable Performers
  • Alexis Mealer (JR/ Arlington, TX) played a great match with a team high 19 kills on 43 attempts (.349 hitting percentage)
  • Tori Richard-Burns (FR/ N Richland Hills, TX) finished the game with 53 assists and 11 digs
  • Nikki Almaguer (SR/ Waxahachie, TX) and Faith Marroquin (JR/ Omaha, NE) both stepped up big with 18 digs  
  • Ava Meyers (SO/ Round Top, TX) added 14 kills

  • On Friday March 12th the Lady Lions will play at home against University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Start time is scheduled for 6:00pm
