Waxahachie, Texas – September 4, 2017- The Central States Football League (CSFL) has released Player of the Week honors for week one and Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) kicker Tluang Hmung has received the season’s inaugural Special Teams Player of the Week honor.  Hmung is a sophomore kicker from Lewisville, Texas.

In his very first game for the Lions, Hmung was a perfect nine-for-nine in PAT’s while scoring nine points in SAGU’s 63-34 victory over Howard Payne University.  He averaged 53.8 yards per while kicking off 10 times.  Hmung also had five touchbacks.

“Tluang is as consistent of a kicker as I have ever coached,” states Head Coach Frank Tristan, “Day in and day out he comes in with the same intensity and focus and it’s all paying off for him.”

Arizona Christian University’s senior quarterback Ryan Esslinger was named Offensive Player of the Week and Oklahoma Panhandle University senior linebacker Dominick Bell received Defensive Player of the Week honors.

On Saturday, September 9, 2017 SAGU will host East Texas Baptist University.  Game time is at 7pm.
