“I am so proud of all that the team has accomplished this year. The recognition that these three girls have received is well deserved. Nadine and Laura broke scoring records and had several game-winning goals. They both have tremendous talent and an eye for the goal. They feed off of each other and have been fun to watch,” explains head coach Mandy Fortner .

Barba, a junior from El Paso, Texas, scored 12 goals this season.  She also had seven assists for the season.  In two games this season Barba has scored a season-high two goals.  This was Barba’s first season playing for SAGU.

Jaimes is a sophomore from Dallas, Texas.  Jaimes led the team in scoring with 14 goals for the season.  In three games this season Jaimes scored a season-high two goals.  Jaimes is now SAGU’s all-time leading scorer.

Lozano is a senior from El Paso, Texas.  Fortner is pleased a senior defender made the list, “I am extremely proud of Gloria for earning this honor. It is tough for a defender to earn a spot on the regional team but she has made her presence known this year on the field. She played through a very tough knee injury but played with such great composure, confidence and passion. She will be missed next year in our back line.”

Barba, Jaimes and Lozano have led SAGU women’s soccer to their most winningest season ever with a record of 9-11.  This year was SAGU’s first to qualify for the NCCAA Regional Tournament as well as the Sooner Athletic Conference post-season tournament.
