Waxahachie, Texas-- December 6th, 2017--The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU)  men's track team is excited to announce that three of its male runners have been chosen to compete in the 47th running of the BMW Dallas Marathon, Half Marathon & SMU Cox School of Business Relay taking place Sunday, December 10, 2017.

Newly appointed captain, Robert Herrera, along with Cody Walker, and Adrian Cedillo will be competing in the “elite” half marathon group; as they chase the NAIA “A” Standard mark of 1:13:30. Runners who hit this time for a half marathon (13.1 miles) earn the right to run the full marathon (26.2 miles) in Gulf Shores, AL come May at the NAIA National Championship. This year, they are debuting a new, faster course and are excited to see what kind of times it will produce.

“This will be the third year that members of our team has sought to compete at the NAIA National Outdoor Track Championships, and all there years we had at least two representatives! Last year, we had three qualifiers and the previous year produced the NAIA National Champion!
