Kennedy Sims , will be a transfer-junior from Frank Phillips Junior College in Borger, Texas.  Sims is originally from Hobbs, New Mexico . While in high school she was a three sport letterman in softball, basketball and volleyball.  At Frank Phillips Junior College, Sims has been starting in right and center fields and has a batting average of .346 and a fielding percentage of .905.

First year head coach Sarah Harman is eager to add Sims into the mix, “I am excited about Kennedy as she is just an overall athlete.  She has a strong presence about her and she can add some veteran leadership into our outfield.”

Kaili Jo Williams is a first baseman out of Riesel High School in Riesel, Texas .  As a junior Williams had a .468 batting average, .589 on base percentage with 30 hits, 24 RBIS, five doubles and three triples.  She was named to the 2015 Honorable Mention TXSWA- All State team, 2015 All District 1 st Base, and 2015 Co Offensive MVP.  Her sophomore season, Williams was named All District 1 st Base and Team Defensive MVP.  For her senior season Williams has been invited to play in the FCA Victory Bowl Softball Game.

“Kaili is a big addition to our team,” says Harman, “She brings an explosive bat and will give much added depth to the first base position and she can also pitch.  I look forward to her developing into a college athlete and working with her on her pitching, as I feel like she could become a consistent closer for us in the circle.”

Natalie Weaver is a current senior from Kickapoo High School in Springfield, Missouri .  Weaver has received two varsity letters in softball and is the recipient of the Diamond Character Award from the Softball World Series this past summer.

“Natalie is a true utility player as she can play second, outfield, and catch.  She is also quick and can be utilized greatly to run bases,” says Harman.

And finally, Baylee McBrannon will come to SAGU from Ferris High School in Ferris, Texas .  McBrannon is currently batting an impressive .565.  In 2013, McBrannon was named as the Ferris High School Newcomer of the Year.  Last season McBrannon was named Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-District for outfield.

Harman looks forward to the depth that McBrannon will bring the middle infield as well as the outfield positions, “I really like what Baylee will bring to the team.  She is mature and has a great presence about herself and is a mentally tough kid.  Physically she brings a lot of speed to the bases but also on defense.  She is from Ferris, which is close to Waxahachie, it’s been fun getting to know her and her family during the recruiting process. “

This group of recruits will join six others as new Lady Lions in the 2016 year. Rachel Ray, Brianna Garner, Brittany Garner, Adriana Alonzo, Brittany Livingston, Danielle Etter, Kayla Milstead and Savannah Watson have all signed letters of intent.
