Two players from the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team received Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) weekly honors including Kali Shaw and Sophia Ivy .
Ivy was awarded her fourth career conference setter of the week award, while Shaw received her second attacker award in her time as a Lion.
Ivy, a junior from the metroplex in Round Rock, Texas had 39 assists against the 21st ranked team in the nation to open up the CSC tournament. She then finished the tournament handing out a total of 167 assists against 4 opponents over the two day span of their trip.
Shaw is a senior hitter from Meadows Place, Texas near the Houston area. Shaw put down 4.81 kills, 3.0 digs and 0.38 blocks per set for their tournament run in Missouri . She had a consistent effort with a stellar three matches ending in 20+ kills and a double-double verses Culver Stockton on Friday morning of the tournament.
On Friday, August 31st, 2018 SAGU will host Langston University at 6:00 pm then a game against Our Lady of the Lake University will follow shortly after. On Saturday the Lions will host another double header against Georgetown College and Central Christian College with games being at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
