Goodwell, OK – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s soccer team garnered their first Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) win of the season on Saturday in Goodwell, OK against Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU). SAGU (3-14, 1-7) scored early and often to beat OPSU by a score of 11-0 in the match.

Lady Lion Review

  • The win broke a 14 match losing streak for the Lady Lions.
  • The barrage of goals scored ended the Lady Lions scoring drought dating back to October 17 th versus Austin College.

  • Natalia Torres (JR/Royse City, TX) led the Lady Lions with 3 goals and 3 assists.
  • SAGU goalkeepers combined for their third shutout of the season.

The Next Step

SAGU will travel from Goodwell, OK to McPherson, KS to play Central Christian College of Kansas on Monday, November 5 th . The match is scheduled to kickoff at Noon. This is a rescheduled match due to weather. SAGU qualifies for the conference tournament and a chance to extend their season by at least one game with a win.
