SAGU Senior Goalkeeper Sarah Palmer

Waxahachie, TX – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s soccer played University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) in a conference match on Tuesday. USAO is the #12 ranked women’s soccer team in the National Intercollegiate Athletics Association (NAIA) and came into the match with a 12-1 record. SAGU (2-10-1, 0-5-0) lost to the Lady Drovers 9-0.

Lady Lion Review

  • Sarah Palmer (SR/Grapevine, TX) played the first 59:48 of the match in goal recording 16 saves.
  • Taylor Jackson (SO/Springtown, TX) played the remainder of the match in goal and recorded seven saves.
  • Natalia Torres (JR/Royse City, TX) led the Lady Lions in shots and shots on goal against USAO. Torres is the Lady Lions goals, assists, shots, and shots on goal leader at this point in the season.

The Next Step

  • SAGU will play on Thursday evening in Sherman, TX against NCAA DIII opponent Austin College. The Lady Lions will return to Sooner Athletic Conference Action on Saturday, October 19 th , against the Oklahoma City University Stars in Oklahoma City, OK at 5:00 pm.
