Waxahachie, TX – LSU-Alexandria women’s soccer team visited Waxahachie, TX on Tuesday afternoon to take on the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions in a 2:00 non-conference match-up. SAGU struggled for offensive opportunities against an NAIA team receiving Top 25 votes and the Lady Lions (2-3-0, 0-0-0) were shut out by the Generals (5-2-0) by a score of 3-0.
Lady Lion Review
- LSU-Alexandria took 37 shots during the match. Twenty-five ended up as shots on goal. SAGU had six shots for the game with five shots on goal.
- LSU-Alexandria scored at 25:10 of the first half to take a 1-0 lead and complete all the scoring necessary to win the game. They added two more goals in the 2 nd half to make the final 3-0.
- SAGU did not have a corner kick in the match while LSU-Alexandria had 11 for the day.
- SAGU goalie Taylor Jackson (SO/Springtown, TX) may sleep well tonight after accounting for 22 saves during the match. The 22 saves in a match are the most in Jackson’s collegiate career.
- The shots leader for SAGU was Natalia Torres (JR/Royse City, TX) with 4 shots on the day.
