Waxahachie, Texas – February 8, 2018 – TheSouthwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s basketball team defeatedSouthwestern Christian University (SCU), 66-60. The Lady Lions are now standing 11-12 overall and 6-9 in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC).
Both SAGU and SCU got off to a slow start only scoring nine and eleven points, respectively in the first quarter. The Lady Lions finished the first half ahead, 21-19.  It wasn’t until the third quarter that the Lady Lions found some momentum, knocked down shots and gained an 18-point lead. SAGU finished the game shooting 37 percent from the field and 70 percent from the charity stripe.
Freshman Kiara Glenn led the Lady Lions with 16 points and five assists. Lexi Rich followed with 13 points. Dotty Diggles led the Lady Lions in rebounds with 11 and she also had nine points.
The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Senior Eliora Johnson with 19 points and 26 rebounds.
The Lady Lions will compete against Texas Wesleyan University Monday, February 12, 2018 at 6pm in Fort Worth, Texas.
