Fort Worth, Texas – February 12, 2018 – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s basketball team beat Texas Wesleyan University (TWU), 73-70. The Lady Lions are now standing 12-12 overall and 7-9 in the Sooner Athletic Conference ( SAC) . They are currently in 6 th place in the SAC.

The Lady Lions were led in scoring by Eva Atnuwa with 18 points and nine rebounds. Dotty Diggles followed with 17 points and seven rebounds. SAGU’s forward and center showed up big and dominated in the post.

SAGU trailed by as many as 12 points in the 2 nd quarter but rallied back to tie the game at halftime, 33-33.

The second half was a back and forth battle between the two teams and finally, SAGU’s Kiara Glenn got an offensive rebound off of a tip from Lexi Rich and put the Lady Lions ahead 72-70 with 8 seconds left. That would prove to be the winning basket for SAGU with Dotty Diggles hitting one free throw in the final seconds of the game.

Nicole Gleason led the Lady Rams with 25 points. Gleason scored 15 of those points in the 3 rd quarter.

The Lady Lions will compete against John Brown University , February 15, 2018, at 6 pm in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
