SAGU Junior Point Guard Kiara Glenn

Waxahachie TX- Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) hosted TAMU-Texarkana (TAMUT) to open the second day of the SAGU Classic at the Schaeffer Center. The Lady Lions (2-1, 0-0) beat TAMU (1-3, 0-0) for the second time this year. SAGU defeated TAMUT 90-68.

Top Performers:

  • Lexi Rich (SR/ San Antonio, TX) led all scorers with 26 points. She also notched her third straight double-double with 10 rebounds.
  • Kiara Glenn ( JR/Ennis, TX ) chipped in with 23 points of her own.
  • Sydney Meador ( JR/Denton, TX ) had another solid game with 19 points and 7 rebounds.
  • Rich, Glenn, and Meador combined to shoot 50% from beyond the three-point arc (12-24).

How it Happened:

  • TAMUT used full-court pressure throughout the first quarter turning SAGU over 8 times.
  • SAGU seemed to settled down but was outscored 20-17 in the second quarter.
  • Behind steady outside shooting SAGU was able build their lead 75-45.
  • SAGU moved the ball well throughout the game assisting on 18 of their shots.

What’s Next: SAGU will be back home at the Sheaffer Center on SAGU campus November 14, 2019 when they take on Huston-Tillotson University at 6:00 pm.
