The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team went 2-0 over the weekend and a shared title at the Sooner Athletic Conference regular season title. The Lady Lions and Oklahoma City University both end the season with 18-2 conference records leading in the conference tournament starting on Tuesday.

The Lady Lions defeated Mid-America Christian University Friday night who they will face in round one of the SAC tournament 3-0 (25-5, 25-16, and 25-14). SAGU had five players ending the game with five or more kills in Kali Shaw, Madeleine Hartline, Kennedy Wiley, Suzanny Figueiredo, and Jancee Akers . They also had five players with five or more digs in Celi Bruce, Sophia Ivy, Nikki Almaguer , Figueiredo, and Shaw. Ivy also led the way with 33 assists during their 17th conference win on the year.

Saturday against the University of Science and Arts was similar to Friday night with the Lady Lions winning almost every category on the stat sheet. SAGU won the game 75 points to 33 for another 3-0 game, 25-9, 25-10 and 25-14. Kali Shaw, Kennedy Wiley, and Suzanny Figueiredo led the way for the attackers with Shaw and Wiley with eight each, Figueiredo with nine. Celi Bruce led the Lions once again with 11 digs and Sophia Ivy with 27 assists for her 1073 assists on the season. Bruce now has 1954 digs for her career and is 46 digs away from having 2000 to go down in the record books.
