Irving, Texas- September 18, 2015- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team extended their win streak to five in a row after beating University of Dallas 3-1.  The Lady Lions are now 8-3 for the season.

Set one was a dog fight for the Lions.  SAGU was finally able to come out on top, 33-31.  The University of Dallas pulled ahead in set two, winning 25-16. The Lady Lions were able to regroup and finish on top the final two sets (25-19, 25-21).

SAGU freshman Kali Shaw had a stand-out game.  Leading the Lady Lions in digs (34), kills (16) and service aces (2).

Junior-transfer Carlie Tuiasosopo played her first game of the season and had 14 kills, sophomore Mollie McBride added 11 kills.  Senior Libero Emmalee Smith had 25 digs and freshman Celi Bruce had 21.  Senior Caitlin Paschall had 44 assists.

The Lions are gearing up for another busy weekend.  On Friday, SAGU will begin Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) play when they host St. Gregory’s University (1-4).  SAGU Sports Network will be broadcasting the game live HERE .  On Saturday, September 19, 2015 SAGU will host a tri-match between Southwestern Christian (5-9) and University of the Southwest (4-8).
