Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball

The Lady Lions competed, but fell short, especially in sets one and five (17-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-17, 11-15).

“Our defense was very good tonight, but our offense was not.  Austin College is a good team and they flat-out just out played us in sets one and five.  It’s now time to get ready for JBU,” explains Head Coach Hank Moore.

Jessica Sodich had 18 kills but hit a .137.  She also had 27 digs, two solo blocks, and three assist blocks. Kali Shaw had 13 kills, 13 digs, and four assist blocks. Paulyae Dawkins had 12 kills and hit a .333.  She also added six assist blocks which were big in crucial moments. Sophia Ivy had 51 assists and 11 digs. Celi Bruce added 17 digs and Nikki Almaguer had 11 digs.

The Lady Lions will return home this weekend competing against John Brown University, Friday, September 29, 2017 at 7pm and Bacone, Saturday at 11am.
