Muskogee, Oklahoma – September 26, 2015 – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team improved to 4-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) play after beating first year SAC member Bacone College .  The game went to four sets after SAGU dropped the second (25-21, 21-25, 25-20, 25-15).  The Lady Lions are an impressive 12-3 overall.

Despite adversity, head coach Hank Moore is happy with the way his team responded, “We missed way too many serves tonight and overall did not play very well, but we can really grow from a match like this.  I was proud of the way we battled even if we did not play at a good level.”

Freshman Kali Shaw had 13 kills.  Sophomore Summer Skillern added 10 kills and sophomore Maddison McClure had nine.

Caitlin Paschall had 43 assist and 10 digs.  Seniors Katie Ryan and Emmalee Smith each ended the night with 15 digs.  Smith is the current SAC Defender of the Week.

The women will play back-to-back SAC games.  On Saturday, September 26, 2015, the Lady Lions will play at John Brown University (11-5 overall, 1-2 in SAC).  Game time is 1:00pm.
