Kissimmee, Florida – December 1 -- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team defeated Oakland City University (OCU) and lost against Campbellsville University (CU) in the NCCAA National tournament. In spite of the second lost against CU, SAGU set a record for 30 school wins against OCU.
After being down 2-0 in the first match, the Lady Lions made a comeback and won in five sets against OCU (17-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-10).  Jessica Sodich played extremely well in sets three through five, leading the Lady Lions with 18 kills. Paulyae Dawkins ended with 16 kills, one solo block and eight huge assists blocks.  Sophia Ivy had 46 assists and seven assist blocks. 
Head Coach Hank Moore says, “I am so proud of our girls for fighting. This has been a great experience for us.”
The Lady Lions will advance to the semi-finals of the NCCAA National Tournament to compete against Biola University on December 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
