Siloam Springs, Arkansas – November 7, 2015- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team lost to John Brown University (JBU) in three straight sets (25-11, 25-17, 26-28).  The Lady Lions are now knocked out of the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) tournament but they will be playing in the NCCAA regional tournament.

“We did not compete until the third set and that is too late to start playing,” explains head coach Hank Moore , “We had chances in that third set and just could not put the ball away.”

In the third set, JBU led 12-17. Summer Skillern earned two kills in a row, making the score 14-17.  SAGU was able to tie the game, 22 all, after two kills in a row by Kali Shaw followed by two JBU errors in a row.  The Lady Lions forced the Golden Eagles into extra points, but in the end JBU was able to come out victorious, 26-28.

Senior Caitlin Paschall had a double/double with 26 assist and 17 digs.  Freshman Kali Shaw had a double/double as well with 17 digs and 12 kills. Maddison McClure had one solo block and three assist blocks. Sophomore’s Mollie McBride and Skillern each had seven kills.

SAGU is now 17-14 overall and will now prepare for the National Christian Colleges Athletic Association (NCCAA) Regional Tournament that will be held at Oklahoma Wesleyan University on November 19-21, 2015.
