The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team has dropped their semi-final match in Oklahoma City against Texas Wesleyan University, 1-3 (12-25, 25-21, 17-25, 23-25).

Senior, Kali Shaw had a double-double with 12 kills and 17 digs. Kennedy Wiley was second in hits with 10 kills than Alexis Mealer had nine. Setter, Sophia Ivy led the team with 35 assists to go along with six digs. Celi Bruce also had three assists with 17 digs on the night.

The next day was the championship match of the SAC conference tournament between OCU and TWU. The Stars defeated the Rams three sets to two resulting in OCU advancing to the NAIA national tournament for an automatic bid from winning the conference tournament championship.

SAGU will wait to see if their season will continue after a historic 28-4 campaign. The NAIA national tournament field will release Monday morning 11/12 and the Lady Lions can only hope for the best with this type of year. The Lady Lions were co-SAC regular season champs with OCU with an 18-2 record and also had key wins over Georgetown (Ky.), Bellevue, and Oklahoma City. They also went on a 22 game winning streak in the middle part of the year that resulted in non-conference and conference matches to go down as one of the best seasons in school history.
