The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team lost a conference battle at Texas Wesleyan University (TWU) Tuesday night three sets to zero. The top five in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings before the last weekend are 1 SAGU (16-2), 1 Oklahoma City University (16-2), 3 TWU (15-3), 4 John Brown University (12-6), and 5 Southwestern Christian University (11-7).

The Lady Lions had a 0.104 hitting percentage with Kali Shaw and Suzanny FIguiredo having double-digit kill games. Shaw with 13 kills and 16 digs than Figuiredo having 10 kills and four digs. Setter, Sophia Ivy ended the game with 29 assists, one kill, and four digs. Jancee Akers had an impressive 0.385 hitting percentage knocking down five of her 13 attempts. The Rams had great coverage defensively with five players have five or more digs and five players with at least five kills.

SAGU’s final two regular season games will be at home in Waxahachie Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game will be at 7 pm when Mid-America Christian University comes to town and Saturday will be at 1 pm against the University of Science and Arts.
