Waxahachie, Texas–The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball Lions defeated Central Christian College (CCC) on Saturday afternoon . The Lady Lions swept the Lady Tigers in three sets (25-10, 25-6, 25-23) and move to 8-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) play.

In the first set, the Lady Lions jumped out to a 9-1 run, stepping on the gas early and never letting up. SAGU dominated offensively with a hitting percentage of .307 compared to the Tiger’s hitting percentage of .022, which ultimately would make the difference in the game.

Outside Hitter, Kali Shaw , led the Lady Lions with 14 kills and 15 digs. Jessica Sodich followed with 11 kills and eight digs. Mollie McBride added six kills and three digs. Paulyae Dawkins added six assists blocks, as she continues to tower over the net this season. Sophia Ivy had 29 assists for the Lady Lions.

Morgan Cook, a 5’10 freshman, led the Lady Tigers with four kills. Central Christian College, who is new to SAC, is now 1-8 in conference play.

The Lady Lions will travel to Southwestern Christian University to compete next Friday, October 13, at 7:00 PM in Bethany, Oklahoma.
