The NCCAA National Championship is being set by regional play over the course of this week. The Lady Lions are placed in the Central Region with Sooner Athletic Conference member Southwestern Christian University and College of the Ozarks . These two teams will face off and the winner will play Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) for the Central Region Championship. The winner of Thursday night’s championship (7:30 pm) will head to the ten-team NCCAA National Volleyball Championship field in Point Lookout, MO . Two five-team pools are put together with the matches beginning after Thanksgiving break on November 29th.

The Lady Lions have a combined record of 3-0 against these two teams during the 2018-2019 season. SAGU swept College of the Ozarks during the first weekend of the season, 8/24. They defeated SCU both times in conference play by scores of 3-2 and 3-1. College of the Ozarks ended their regular season 28-5 and a 14 game winning streak that has been dated from September 17th until now. The Eagles had a 20+ win season going 21-8 and 13-7 in SAC play before losing to Oklahoma City University in the semi-finals of the conference tournament.

SAGU is no stranger to the NCCAA National tournament after making it to the national semi-final round last year before losing to champion, Biola University .
