Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball Texas Wesleyan University Sooner Athletic Conference

Each set was extremely close and all were decided by four points or less.  TWU jumped out to win the first set before SAGU came from behind to win the next three (23-25, 25-21, 25-22, 27-25).

Key players for the match were Jessica Sodich , Kali Shaw , Paulyae Dawkins , and Sophia Ivy . “Our kids played lights out! One of the greatest collegiate matches I have seen. I’m so proud of my girls and how hard they played and fought. Great win for the Lions,” explains longtime SAGU Head Coach Hank Moore .

The Lady Rams were led by Shelby Stinnett with 16 kills and 11 digs. Tierra Coverson , the conference leader in blocks, followed with seven kills and seven assist blocks, but that was no match for SAGU’s Paulyae Dawkins , who answered with six solo blocks to keep the rally going. Sasha Robinson had 40 assists for the Lady Rams and finished with a career high 31 digs. Previously she had 26.

SAGU dominated not only on the offensive end, but also defensive.  Dawkins finished with 10 kills and six blocks, which were huge and came at crucial moments. Sodich led with 21 kills and 19 digs. Shaw finished with 12 kills and doubled her digs at 24. Ivy had 48 assists and 10 digs. As a team, SAGU had nine total blocks and 97 digs.
