Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) celebrates the accomplishments of the Spring 2019 graduates on Friday, May 3. Over 150 graduates will represent the class of 2019 during this upcoming commencement ceremony.

Almost one-third of the graduates will be recognized for their academic achievement with numerous students graduating summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude.

Among the students who will graduate with honors is class speaker, Sierra Sabido.

Sabido has shown incredible leadership skills through her involvement as a Head Resident Assistant and President of Christian United for Israel and has participated in SMA as a Prayer Leader and a Team Leader for a mission trip to Germany. She has been included on the Dean’s or President’s List over several semesters and is a member of Theta Alpha Kappa.

She will be one of approximately 80 graduates within the College of Bible and Church Ministries. Out of the three colleges within the university, the College of Bible and Church Ministries will make up the most graduates followed by the College of Business and Education and the College of Music and Communication.

Reverend Scott Wilson, Senior Pastor of the Oaks Church in Red Oak, Texas, is set to be the commencement speaker. Wilson had also been involved in ministry prior to his service as a senior pastor where he started Life School – a public, charter school that educates thousands of students in six Dallas area locations. He also partnered with SAGU to create the Oaks School of Leadership, where students can spend time in active ministry while completing schoolwork for their bachelor’s degrees.

Along with our undergraduate students, the Harrison Graduate School will have approximately 30 graduates including the first recipient of our Doctor of Ministry degree-a degree program just launched in 2014.

The full ceremony will be available to watch during the time of the ceremony by clicking here .
