Ft. Worth, TX – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) made the short trip to Fort Worth, TX for a Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) match-up on Tuesday evening. On a day when the Lady Lions captured the #1 ranking in the NCCAA Division I Volleyball Poll, the Texas Wesleyan (TWU) Rams (7-5, 3-1) took advantage of errors by SAGU (8-5, 2-2) and beat the Lady Lions in 3 sets 25-20, 25-16, and 25-17.
Lady Lion Review
- SAGU lost for the second time this year in straight sets.
- With the loss SAGU drops to seventh in the conference. For now. Don’t expect the Lady Lions to stay in that range.
- The loss drops the Lady Lions to 3-4 in the last seven volleyball matches. Despite their talent, the Lady Lions are a very young team trying to find themselves on the floor and gel as a team.
- TWU committed 16 attack errors to SAGU’s 28 attack errors.
- SAGU hit .033 for the match compared to TWU’s .207 hitting percentage.
- SAGU led in each set early but lost the lead never to be regained.
Moore’s Musings
- “This was a very difficult evening. We had not answer for their fast offense and our team really struggled. We played well at times, then were really poor at times. Players looked tired and just flat struggled tonight. We will have to get better fast…the schedule isn’t getting any easier.
