A day after been named the Player of the Week (POW) in the SAC, Rambo was honored as the National Player of the Week by the NAIA . He was one of eight Players of the Week.

“I know I speak for Rambo when I say this is a team award,” he pointed out. “The reason for our success is because we play for One and play as one. Our goal is to bring God glory on the basketball floor.”

“If it is ‘Bo driving, Hondo (Caleb Gentry) diving, Jon (Walter) dunking, (Caleb) Feemster launching a three or “E” (Emmanuel Adoyi) controlling the paint and the boards,” he said. “All we see are the SAGU Lions tapping into a power bigger than any individual.”

A year ago he was named First Team All-Red River Athletic Conference as well as the RRAC’s Most Valuable Player. He averaged 19.5 ppg as the Lions won their first RRAC championship in basketball en route to a 33-5 season.

His 3.55 steals per game was tops in the league and his 135 for the season led the NAIA. Rambo’s highest scoring output came in March when he rattled home 43 against Texas Wesleyan University in the RRAC tournament.
