Waxahachie, Texas—February 15th, 2017-The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Softball team picked up two wins against Jarvis Christian on Thursday afternoon. SAGU now moves to 5-6 on the season.
 
In game one, Rosie Guadarrama went 6 for 6 with 2 Runs Batted In (RBIs) and 3 runs scored. Kristin Stringer was five for six with a sacrifice fly, RBI, and two doubles.  Game one Rachel pitched 7 innings with one batted ball and scattering nine hits.
 
Game one was back and forth until the bottom of the 6th inning when SAGU utilized its bench to come in to pinch hit. Tied at 3-3 Arras Luna lead off the inning with a single, Rieanha Cano followed with another single.  Kylee Fowler came off the bench with a fielders choice to move Luna to third base. Brittany Livingston also came off the bench and hit a single with 1 RBI and then Rosie Guadarrama continued her hot bat by singling to right field.  Kristin Stinger drew a walk and then Morgan Valentino singled and batted in the 7th run for the lions.  The game ended with a Bailey Balloun double play.  Balloun caught a line drive in center field and threw out the runner at second base who didn't tag up.
 
Game two was all Lions as Rosie Gauadarrama remained perfect at the plate with 2 RBIs.  Kayla Milstead went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIS.  Kristin Stringer had a double and Casey Waterman hit a triple for the Lady Lions.
 
Amy Bejil pitched in game two for the Lady Lions and tossed a four hit shutout.
 
Coach Sarah Harman was happy with the play of her team and especially Guadarrama.  Harman said, "Rosie Guadarrama has been taking her opportunities and is making some incredible catches In the outfield while making a statement with her bat.  That is always great to see when a freshman can dominate in the lineup."
 
SAGU will play to the University of Dallas on Friday in a double header.
