Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) softball Rachel Ray NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week

Ray, a 6’0 junior from Brazoria, Texas , led the Lions to a 4-1 win over Austin Colleg e in the Lady Lions season opener.  In Ray’s seven inning performance on the mound she struck out 11 batters and allowed just five hits, two walks and one earned run with an ERA of 1.00.

“Rachel really worked hard to move the ball and utilize her spin and speed,” says head coach Sarah Harman , “She works extremely hard and is very humble and driven.  She definitely deserves this award.”

Each student-athlete has been nominated by their respective institution and exemplifies the Christian ideals held by the NCCAA.

Southwestern Assemblies of God University is a private, Christian university located 30 minutes south of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in Waxahachie, Texas.
