Oklahoma City, Oklahoma—March 23 rd —Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) softball posted two wins this week against Southwestern Christian and two losses against nationally ranked Oklahoma City University. SAGU moves to 19-13-1 overall and 8-6 in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC). They are currently ranked 5 th in the SAC standings.

Game one for SAGU at Southwestern Christian was a slug fest put on by the Lady Lions offense. Senior Bailey Baloun went 4-4 and accounted for four runs. Casey Waterman went 2-3 had two runs and one RBI. Kristin Stringer was also 2-3 with one run and six RBIs.

The SAGU offense scored 16 runs on 13 RBIs and went 14-32 at the plate.

Casey Waterman pitched five innings and had five strikeouts. Amy Vejil pitched one inning and had two strikeouts.

Game two was much of the same for the Lady Lions offense. They would score 14 runs to Southwestern Christian’s zero. Rosie Guadarrama went 3 for 3 and batted in two RBIs. Kristin Stringer went 2 for 3 and also had two RBIs. Chloe McGee had five RBIs and Destinee Vindola had three RBIs. SAGU scored 14 runs on 14 hits.

Rachel Ray pitched five innings and recorded eight strikeouts.

Coach Sarah Harman was pleased with how the Lady Lions bats were going. Harman said, “It was a great offensive and pitching performance and I am proud of how the team stepped up after not playing our best at Texas Wesleyan.”

SAGU dropped both games at Oklahoma City University. Game one was 0-8 and Game two was 2-10. In game two, SAGU lead 2-0 for four and a half innings. Oklahoma City had a seven run 5 th inning and a three run 6 th inning.

SAGU will play a double header at Bacone College on Thursday, March 29 th . SAGU defeated Bacone in both games earlier this season.
