On Friday, SAGU would take two games from CCC. The Lady Lions won game one by a score of 6-1 and 10-2 in the late game. In game one, SAGU had nine hits and six Runs Batted In (RBIs). Kayla Milstead and Casey Waterman each had two hits for the Lady Lions. Waterman also accounted for three of the RBIs for the SAGU.
The Lady Lions bats would heat up in the second game of the day on Friday. SAGU scored 10 runs. Kristin Stringer had three RBIs while Kayla Milstead had two hits and two RBIs for SAGU. Casey Waterman also had three hits for the Lady Lions.
SAGU would also take both games from CCC on Saturday. The Lady Lions won game one 3-0 and game two 5-4.
The Lady Lions pitching was stout this weekend. Rachel Ray won two games on the mound for SAGU. Ray had one no-hitter and a one run game on Friday. Ray garnered 23 strikeouts for the weekend.
Coach Sarah Harman was impressed with Ray, “We had solid pitching performances from all three pitchers but Rachel stepped up big time for us and shut down the Central Christian offense. I am proud of the progress we have been making.”
SAGU will play #1 Oklahoma City University on Monday, March 12 th and Bacone on Thursday March 15 , 2018. Both games will be on the SAGU campus.
