Longview, Texas- September 12, 2015- Despite playing until double overtime, the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s soccer game against LeTourneau University ended in a tie. The final score was 2-2.

In the 22 nd minute of play, SAGU’s Parker Sturgeon scored by driving to the left and chipping the goalie.  Assist was made my Robert Ambrosie .  SAGU went up, 1-0.

LeTourneau was able to score with 3:56 left in the first half after a few missed clears by SAGU.  Going into halftime the score was tied 1-1.

With 21:13 left in the game, Isai Velasquez Bonilla scored with Miguel Torres passing it to him for the assist.  The Lions went up 2-1.

With seven minutes left in regulation, the Yellow Jackets scored off of a corner kick.  With the score tied, 2-2, the game was forced into overtime.

Despite 20 extra minutes of play, neither the Lions nor Yellow Jackets were able to score.  The game ended in a tie and both teams collapsed on the field in exhaustion after the final whistle.

SAGU is now 2-2-1.  The Lions will play on September 19, 2015 when St. Thomas (0-3-1) comes to town.  Game time is at 3:00pm.
