Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s soccer Dallas Baptist University

It didn’t take the Lions long to attack.  SAGU’s Miguel Torres scored the Lions goal with 15:30 left in the first half.  He placed the ball in the upper corner.

“We were committed to our game plan for the first half and I’m very pleased with the style of play and the patience we showed,” explains SAGU head coach Clem Oancea , “After halftime we forgot the game plan a little and started giving the ball away too easily.”

The Lions were able to hold the lead throughout much of the game and into the second half.  DBU was able to score with 16 minutes left in the game.

“To see this group coming together in two weeks as they have done is such a blessing.  The brotherhood is growing day by day among them.  We believe in our Lions and great things will continue to happen for those that believe as well,” says Oancea.

Against DBU, Torres had two shots on goal with one goal scored.  Torres now has two goals for the young season.  Goalkeeper Juan Solis had five saves with one goal allowed.

The Lions will host Southwestern (Kansas) on Monday, September 5, 2016.  Game time is at 3pm.
