Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball Sophia Ivy Sooner Athletic Conference setter-of-the-week

Head coach Hank Moore is impressed with the amazing week Ivy had, “She is getting better and better every practice. She is a freshman who has come in and won the starting setters position. The setter is your quarterback, point guard, the all-around leader for your team.  Sophia is gaining confidence in her abilities to call plays and execute a fast offense.  I would say that she is off to a great start as a player.”

Ivy, a freshman from Round Rock, Texas , averaged 11 assists in 13 sets in victories of Huston-Tillotson , Southwestern Christian and University of Science & Arts-Oklahoma .  Her best statistical effort was in a 3-2 win over USAO with 60 assists.

Sophia and the young SAGU team are off to a strong start of the season.  They are currently 11-7 overall and 3-1 in the SAC.  On Friday, September 23, 2016 the Lady Lions will travel to play Bacone College at 7pm.
