Waxahachie, Texas- February 29, 2016- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s basketball team picked up their first Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) player-of-the-week award of the year.  The SAC has named Charity Page as the SAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week .

Page is a 6’0 junior forward from Nacogdoches, Texas .  She averaged 17.5 points and 13 rebounds in SAGU’s past two games against Wayland Baptist and Mid-America Christian.  Page made 16-of-24 shots from the field for 66.7 percent.  She also had 20 points and a season-high 16 rebounds in SAGU’s 58-46 win over MACU.

“Charity has been playing so well the last few weeks,” says SAGU head coach Tiffany Phillips , “She has been so dominate in the paint all year long and she continues to get better and better each game. I feel comfortable calling a play for Charity anytime we need a basket because I know she will deliver.”

For the season, Page is averaging 11 points and eight rebounds per game. She currently ranks no. 12 in the NAIA in offensive rebounds per game at 3.5.  She also ranks no. 23 overall in total rebounds for the season (228).

The Lady Lions will begin post-season play when SAGU plays J ohn Brown University at 2:15pm at the Sheaffer Center Gymnasium.  In the past two contests, JBU has swept SAGU (62-59OT, 71-67).
