Waxahachie, Texas – March 1, 2017- The Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) has announced the women’s basketball All-Conference team and Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s (SAGU) Charity Page received 2 nd Team honors.

Page, a senior from Nacogdoches, Texas, led SAGU in scoring and rebounds, as well as leading the Sooner Athletic Conference in rebounds.

“I am so proud of the season that Charity had. I am honored that she was named Second Team All-conference, even though she probably deserves to be first team with the year that she had. She increased her scoring per game, her rebounds per game and her overall skill level this past year,” explains head coach Tiffany Phillips , “She is an incredibly hard worker and gives it her all every single day.”

In 2017, Page averaged 17 points per game and 10 rebounds per game.  In early January, she hit 1,000 career points for her four years at SAGU.

Currently, she holds nine rankings in the NAIA.  Some of the rankings Page holds includes fifth in offensive rebounds per game (4.2), no. nine in total rebounds per game (10.6), no. nine in total rebounds (286), no. 17 in points scored per game, she also ranks in the top 30 for blocks.

Coach Phillips knows Page will be hard to replace as she looks to the future, “Anytime we needed to score I knew that if we could get her the ball that she would make something great happen for us. It is so important to have a go-to player and she was our go-to player almost every game. Her presence on the court will be hard to replace because she did so much for this team. She is deserving of every honor and award bestowed on her and so much more.”

Finishing up her four-year career, Page scored 1,202 points and had 855 rebounds as a Lady Lion.
