Waxahachie, Texas- September 16, 2015- Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) football player Ricky Bickham has been picked for the USA Football NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week.  Bickham is currently the Central States Football League (CSFL) Offensive Player of the Week as well.

Head coach Frank Tristan says all of Bickham’s hard work is paying off, “I am very proud of Ricky. He put in a great summer of work in preparation for the season and is reaping the benefits of that work.”

Against Austin College , the running back picked up 135 of SAGU’s 183 rushing yards.  He scored two of SAGU’s three touchdowns, leading the Lions to a 20-17 victory over AC.  The sophomore also recorded his 100-yard rushing game, averaging 6.1 yards per carry.

Bickham currently ranks no. 16 in scoring per game.  After the first two games of the season he is averaging 96-yards rushing per game.  The 5’7, 170 pound running back is from Katy, Texas.

The Lions football team will be back in action against Howard Payne University on Saturday, September 19, 2015.  They will play at Lumpkins Stadium.  Game time is 6pm. SAGU Sports Network will be broadcasting the game live.
