 Waxahachie, Texas—March 27th—Southwestern Assemblies of God University men’s track and field runner Robert Herrera was named Runner of the Week by the Sooner Athletic Conference and the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Robert Herrera ran an unbelievable double this weekend. The sophomore from Lyford, Texas competed in the 10000 meters at Rice University at 9:10pm and finished in seventh place overall with a personal record time of 33:46.56. Herrera then traveled to the city of Houston, Texas with the team to complete at the Prairie View Relays the next morning. He ran in the 5000 meters at 8:30am, on less than 11 hours of recovery and finished second with the time of 16:26.32, which is just 37 seconds off of his personal record. His personal best is a 15:49.03 which he ran three weeks ago.

Southwestern Assemblies of God University is a private, Christian university located 30 minutes south of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in Waxahachie, Texas.
