Waxahachie, Texas – January 18, 2017 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) was recently recognized in a list of “2017 Safest College Campuses in America.”
Niche.com describes these top ranked schools as offering “a safe and healthy environment with little or no campus crime, drugs, or alcohol usage.”
A recent anonymous SAGU alumnus commented on Niche’s ranking saying, “It is absolutely the best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced at a college.”
SAGU ranks number four in a list of over a thousand college campuses across the nation. The ranking is based on information gathered from the U.S. Department of Education and reflects SAGU’s commitment to ensuring the safety of our students.
SAGU employs a myriad of security devices and procedures to ensure the constant security of both staff and students. Regular security patrols and I.D. card access points are just two of the many security protocols in use. Parking lots and walkways are consistently well-lit and monitored. Our campus security staff are always readily accessible by way of phone.
The ranking is based on factors such as local and campus crime rate, date violence and the number of drug and alcohol arrests.
In accordance with SAGU’s core value of “Community and Personal Wellness,” we are committed to providing students with a safe, Christian environment conducive to learning and growth.
