Waxahachie, Texas – ​August 25, 2016 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) ranks in the top 25 schools nationwide for "best dorms" according to 2016 Best Colleges. The ranking is the result of student-initiated reviews and Department of Education data for average cost, capacity and low crime rate. At position 25, SAGU's Teeter and Bridges Halls rank above prominent schools in Texas and just below Stanford University and Harvard University nationally.

Within Texas, SAGU ranks second between Rice University and Texas Christian University.

According to Niche, the service that aggregates student reviews, "Top ranked colleges offer outstanding on-campus housing that is safe and clean with modern amenities at reasonable prices."

"There are two newer dorms that have very modern furnishings, A+ security and amenities. The three other dorms are a bit older but are still kept up very nicely," one student said. "Many of the senior housing apartments have been modernized and refurbished and are very nice."

Students feel that each dorm has its own attributes. The newer dorms, while a bit more expensive, offer the largest number of amenities. The older dorms are highly regarded for community and dorm culture.

"In each dorm you will find a unique social dynamic but they all feel like home," another student said. "Whether you are in the newest dorms or the oldest dorms the people are all welcoming and friendly. RezLife go out of their way to make sure each person has a great experience. Free laundry is a major plus, along with TV lounges and study rooms."

Scores on Niche favor "excellent" in all key scoring areas; overall building quality, amenities/perks, cleanliness, ease of housing process/lottery system, proximity to classes, resident community, social atmosphere, spaciousness, appropriate level of rule enforcement and value.

SAGU was also recently featured in Backgroundchecks.org's "Safest Colleges in Texas 2016" list. At number six, SAGU was just below Abilene Christian University and above Texas A&M - College Station.
