Waxahachie, Texas – February 4, 2016 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) ​ranked on Niche Colleges’ “Best Colleges in Texas” list with neighboring schools such as Texas A&M University , Baylor University , Southern Methodist University and Rice University.

The 2016 Best Colleges ranking calculates millions of statistics and student reviews into one overall college ranking that provides a comprehensive assessment of total quality of the education and experience provided by the college.

SAGU ranked 16th out of the 50 colleges named in the state of Texas. An anonymous review said, “I love the atmosphere of this school. The student body makes you feel like a part of the family. The extracurricular activities are great and the professors care about you.”

According to Niche, “The top ranked colleges are elite academic institutions that provide a good value, attract a diverse student body, and offer an exceptional college experience.”

Niche’s database contained records for 1,713 public and private, traditional four-year colleges and universities across the United States. Of the colleges that met the required qualifications, they were able to grade 1,583 and rank 1,164.

Besides the ranking, Niche provides readers with an “Overall Grade” that brings context to the ranking. This overall grade is determined by its subdivisions including Academics, Value, Professors, Student Surveys on Overall Experience, Diversity, Student Life, Athletics, Campus Quality, Local Area, and Safety. Each subdivision is graded and when evaluated as a group, they determine the over all grade.
