“SAGU has a worthy mission. It’s a Kingdom mission.”

Dr. Kermit Bridges, President of Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) , delivered these words in a recent video announcement from the university. SAGU is a mission-minded university with a commitment to “equipping the next generation to fulfill God’s calling for their lives.”

Amid fear and uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic, Dr. Bridges says the university holds steadfast in this mission. It plans to resume on-campus teaching and residence life this fall as currently scheduled.

“During the school year, our students’ energy breathes life into our campus,” said Dr. Bridges. “From the roaring sounds of students’ cheers in our stands to hundreds worshipping and experiencing God’s presence in our chapel – these are memories we cherish and the moments that shape us.”

“That’s why we couldn’t be more excited to have students back.”

Dr. Bridges also expressed the importance of the university’s responsibility for students’ health and safety. This fall, many of the scheduled events may experience changes to follow public health orders and CDC recommendations. But, the university believes the SAGU student experience and culture will remain intact.

The university has already installed and regularly services hand sanitizer stations across campus and significantly increased campus cleaning efforts. Throughout the summer, SAGU will release further details regarding protocols and steps for students’ safety on the university’s COVID19 update page.

“This unforeseen pandemic may have altered our lives, but it has not altered who we are. In times of uncertainty, God shows Himself strong in the lives of His people, and I believe He is on the verge of doing something awesome at SAGU.” – Dr. Kermit Bridges, President of SAGU

As a leading Christian university, SAGU educates and prepares individuals who want to serve Christ and others. SAGU helps students discover and develop their God-given callings in a Spirit-empowered, learning community.

We believe in affordable tuition, made possible in part through the financial support of donors who embrace the mission of SAGU and the importance of affordable, accredited programs to train Christians for leadership in ministry, business, education, and service.
