SAGU Partners with TCKIA to Offer Early College Credit Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) is excited to partner with TCK International Academy (TCKIA) to offer the academy’s high school junior and senior students with the option to take a variety of college credit courses.

TCKIA is an accredited, distance education school with a biblical worldview that serves kids who have spent a large part of their developmental years outside of their passport country.

“We are honored to partner with such a like-minded organization in providing early college credit for third culture kids,” says Joshua Martin, Assistant Dean of SAGU Admissions. “This opportunity provides TCKIA students with an opportunity to get a jumpstart on college at an affordable rate and from a firm biblical worldview. These college-credit courses also seamlessly fit into their high school curriculum.”

Open enrollment for these dual-credit classes for the 2020-2021 school year is now open. TCKIA high school students are now able to take advantage of lower costs per credit hour along with learning time-management, study skills, and gaining the discipline needed for college courses.

The opportunity was made possible by Bethanie Skipper, Executive Dean for TCKIA and SAGU alumna.

“We know some of our TCKs attend SAGU for their undergrad degree and we are excited to see them have early exposure to college courses and hopefully make a smooth transition from high school to college.” – Bethanie Skipper, Executive Dean for TCKIA

“Our hope for the future is that a majority of our juniors and seniors will take advantage of dual credit if it meets their needs and educational goals,” she says.

There are 11 dual-credit courses available for TCKIA high school seniors and seven Bible and electives courses available to juniors. In addition to Bible and electives courses, seniors can take advantage of Composition and Rhetoric courses along with College Math and College Algebra.
