Waxahachie, Texas – May 3, 2017 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) is partnering with LeTourneau University (LETU) to provide an Associate of Science in Health Sciences (ASHS) .
Health Sciences is a great starter program for students interested in health professions like a dental hygienist, medical assistant or health information. It is also a good fit for students planning to enroll in preparatory health courses for nursing, pre-med, science or health education.

Students completing this program at SAGU have a carefully designed entry path in the full bachelor’s degree in nursing program at LeTourneau University.”
Students enrolling in the ASHS at SAGU can participate in LETU global service opportunities, lab events, and nursing organizations such as the Student Nurses Association and Nurses Christian Fellowship .
Students will enroll initially as SAGU students and will be advised by SAGU academic advisors and by nursing leaders at LETU. Students can then apply to LETU before their last year at SAGU. During the last year at SAGU, students will begin taking nursing courses from LETU online. SAGU students will also be allowed first round application and spaces for the LETU clinical nursing program ahead of other transfer students.
If accepted to LETU, students will provide an application to the LETU School of Nursing. All SAGU students who have been in the partnership program at SAGU will be allowed admission to the clinical nursing program based on the same parameters as LETU students.
Students may enter the curriculum plan as first-time freshmen or transfers from other institutes of higher learning.
For a limited time, SAGU is offering a Health Sciences Scholarship. New, on-campus students who choose the ASHS at SAGU can receive up to $4,000. The amount is awarded $1,000 per semester and can be renewed each semester.
SAGU is now receiving applications for the new program.
