Fort Worth, Texas- October 18, 2017-  The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men's soccer team are still looking for their first Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) win and it looked attainable against Texas Weslayan University.  In the end, the Rams topped the Lions 2-1.

TWU was able to get on the scoreboard first when they found the back of the net in the first 20 minutes of the game. Not long after, SAGU scored in the 37th minute of play.  The Lions' Joe Caballero scored off a header.  Caballero's goal tied the game 1-1 at halftime.

With 77 minutes on the clock, Texas Wesleyan scored again from an individual play and SAGU was not able to find the goal for the remainder of the game. The final score after regulation was 2-1.

The SAGU coaching staff was proud of their effort by their team and knows the importance of a win on Saturday for senior day. Assistant Coach Caesar Espana stated, “The boys brought their hearts out on the field tonight. They played as a team. This game is a good build up for our game Saturday.”
