Goodwell, Oklahoma – November 30, 2017, The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s basketball team won against Oklahoma Panhandle State University at Oklahoma’s home court. SAGU now moves to a 6-0 record this season and 1-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
SAGU came off to a great start with an early lead in the game. At the half, the Lions led by 16 with a 43-27 total on the scoreboard.
Lance Tipton and Joshua Kashila made a total of 20 and 21 points overall in the game. Jalen Petillo had a double-double by having 10 rebounds and 10 points on the board. The total score of the game was 95-68 with The Lions taking the win.
Head Coach Delton Deal proclaimed “What a great way to start our conference season! We came out and played together and were able to wear them down! Great performances from Lance Tipton, and Joshua Kashila… Panhandle is a good team and has been playing well so for us to take control of the game early was great for us.”
The Lions will go on to play their next conference game against Wayland Baptist University in Plainview at 3:00 P.M. on December 2 nd , 2017.
