Waxahachie, Texas – December 16th, 2017 - The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s basketball team lost to University of Science and Arts Oklahoma. SAGU now moves on to 6-3 overall this season and 1-3 in conference play.

The Lions played a strong first half by coming up with 47 points to USAO’s 39. In the second half, both teams worked hard until the final buzzer. With back to back exchanges of the lead, both teams put themselves in a position to go to overtime with an equal score of 88 at the end of regulation. USAO finished this bout on top with a score of 102 to SAGU’s 96.

“Tough loss tonight. We need to learn from this and improve moving forward. We struggled with clock management late but we are very close. We just have to take the next step to where we want to be.” stated Head Coach Delton Deal. 

The Lions will be back in action on Monday at nationally ranked LSU-Alexandria in Alexandria, LA at 6:00 PM.
