Ft. Worth, Texas – February 12 th , 2018 – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Men’s basketballs lost to Texas Wesleyan, 76-74, on Monday night.

The Lions came off to smooth but slow start against the TWU Rams in the first half. The score at the half was 36-28 with Texas Wesleyan in the lead by 8. The Lions came back on the court ready to battle it out with the Rams in the second half. As the time started to diminish, SAGU began making their advances at Wesleyan. The game was tied with 8 minutes left on the clock. The Lions would end up leading by 7 with 5 minutes to go. Texas Wesleyan keep playing strong against the SAGU offense. The game tied back up for the 9 th time with a less than 2 minutes to go. Texas Wesleyan won the game with a 3 pointer in the last second of the game with a score of 76-74.

Coach Delton Deal said “That was an incredible effort from our guys persevering through adversity to get back in the game. Unfortunately, we fell short but this is something we will learn from and help to grow us moving forward.”

The Lions will be back in action on February 15 th , 2018 against John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas at 8:00 P.M.
